PE Flame-Retardant Masterbatch is a functional masterbatch developed to solve problems of traditional PE products such as flammability, high smoke density during combustion, molten dripping causing secondary fires, and decreased processing fluidity or mechanical property attenuation after adding conventional flame retardants. It focuses on adapting to PE's low-temperature processing characteristics while endowing PE products with efficient and long-lasting flame-retardant performance, and retaining PE's inherent flexibility and processing stability, providing customized solutions for PE product fields requiring strict fire safety. This type of masterbatch selects suitable carriers based on PE substrate types: for LDPE/LLDPE, low-density PE with melt flow rate5-15g/10min is used to adapt to film and injection molding processes; for HDPE, high-density PE with MFR 2-8g/10min is used to avoid insufficient melt strength during pipe and sheet processing; the compatibility between carrier and PE substrate must reach over 96% to prevent defects such as delamination, surface wrinkling or uneven flame-retardant effect after product formation.
In application scenarios: in the wire and cable field, halogen-free flame-retardant masterbatch is used for PE insulation sheathing, avoiding toxic gas release during cable short-circuit combustion, while retaining the flexibility of the sheathing for easy cable laying and bending; in the construction field, HDPE flame-retardant masterbatch is used for threading pipes and drainage pipes, improving the safety of pipes in building fires, and resisting soil corrosion to extend underground service life; in the packaging field, LDPE flame-retardant masterbatch is used for home appliance packaging films and industrial flammable product packaging films, preventing fire spread when items inside the packaging catch fire, and the film is easy to heat seal without affecting packaging efficiency.
