PE Yellow Masterbatch is a functional masterbatch developed to solve problems of traditional PE products such as uneven yellow color, easy fading from light or chemical contact, and safety risks from ordinary yellow pigments, and these traditional PE products include food-contact PE films, HDPE injection-molded toys, LLDPE outdoor warning signs and PE agricultural insect traps. It focuses on endowing products with bright, uniform, safe and long-lasting yellow appearance while ensuring PE processability and mechanical properties, providing customized solutions for food packaging, children’s products, outdoor warning and agricultural planting. It selects suitable carriers based on scenarios: for food-contact products like cling film, it uses LDPE meeting GB 4806.7-2016 with a melt flow rate of 8-18g/10min for safety; for outdoor products like warning signs, it uses weather-resistant HDPE with a melt flow rate of 3-10g/10min for aging resistance; for soft products like toys, it uses LLDPE with a melt flow rate of 5-15g/10min for flexibility; carrier-substrate compatibility must exceed 96% to avoid pigment precipitation or color difference.
Its core components include scenario-specific safe yellow pigments: azo pigments like Pigment Yellow 139 with a content of 25%-40% for food contact, which meets EU No 10/2011 and has lead and cadmium contents both ≤10mg/kg; quinophthalone pigments like Pigment Yellow 138 with a content of 20%-35% for outdoor use, which has a lightfastness of Grade 7-8; and wavelength-specific pigments like Pigment Yellow 83 with a content of 30%-45% for insect traps, which has a yellow wavelength range of 580-600nm. Additives include food-grade glycerol stearate with an addition amount of 1%-3% for food use, hindered amine light stabilizers with an addition amount of 2%-5% for outdoor use, and pesticide-resistant agents with an addition amount of 1%-4% for agricultural use. Dispersants are compounds of polyethylene wax and fatty acid ester with an addition amount of 2%-6%, ensuring a dispersion uniformity of ≥97% via twin-screw mixing at a temperature of 120-150℃ and keeping the melt flow rate fluctuation ≤4%.
The masterbatch offers stable color and safety, with a color difference ΔE ≤2.5 after 3-5 years of use for relevant products. It works at a processing temperature range of 130-200℃ with an addition amount adjustable between 1%-5%, preserving a tensile strength retention rate of ≥93% for PE substrates. It is suitable for food-contact PE films that require safety, HDPE toys that need non-toxic properties, LLDPE outdoor warning tapes with weather resistance demands, and PE agricultural insect traps designed for pest attraction, while reducing the processing waste rate to below 2%.
