PBAT White Masterbatch is a functional masterbatch developed to solve problems of traditional PBAT products such as uneven whiteness, easy yellowing, poor color stability during degradation, and impaired biodegradability from ordinary white pigments. These traditional PBAT products include biodegradable shopping bags, PBAT/PLA composite films, disposable tableware and agricultural mulch films. It focuses on endowing products with high whiteness, uniform color and color stability during degradation while preserving PBAT’s biodegradability, flexibility and processability, providing customized solutions for biodegradable packaging, disposable products and agricultural environmental protection. It uses compatible PBAT resin as carrier with a melt flow rate of 1.5-3g/10min, ensuring over 96% compatibility with various PBAT substrates to avoid pigment precipitation or delamination, while maintaining the substrate’s biodegradation rate (≥90% degradation in 6 months under composting conditions).
Its core components include biodegradable-compatible white pigment: rutile titanium dioxide with particle size 0.2-0.4μm, whiteness ≥95% and addition amount 25%-40%, which boosts PBAT product whiteness to 92-96 and light-shielding rate to 90%-95%; anti-yellowing additives: blended hindered phenol and phosphite antioxidants with addition amount 1.5%-3%, limiting yellowing index to ≤2.5 after 6 months of storage; and dispersants: fatty acid ester-based biodegradable dispersants with addition amount 2%-5%, ensuring ≥97% dispersion via twin-screw mixing at 130-150℃ and keeping melt flow fluctuation ≤4%.
The masterbatch combines excellent appearance performance and biodegradability, with whiteness retention ≥85% in the first 3 months of composting. Stable at -30℃-60℃, it works at 130-170℃ with adjustable addition 2%-8%, preserving ≥92% tensile strength and ≥90% biodegradation rate. It fits PBAT shopping bags (eco-friendly), disposable tableware (stable appearance), agricultural mulch (weed suppression), and medical care products (hygienic appearance), reducing environmental pollution.
