PBAT Black Masterbatch is a functional masterbatch developed to solve problems of traditional PBAT products such as uneven black color, weak UV resistance, easy color fading during degradation, and inhibited microbial activity from ordinary carbon black. These traditional PBAT products include biodegradable garbage bags, PBAT/PLA composite light-shielding films, agricultural weed control fabrics and disposable storage boxes. It focuses on endowing products with uniform durable black appearance, strong UV resistance and color stability during degradation while preserving PBAT’s biodegradability, flexibility and processability, providing customized solutions for biodegradable packaging, agricultural environmental protection and disposable products. It uses compatible PBAT resin as carrier with a melt flow rate of 1.2-2.8g/10min, ensuring over 96% compatibility with various PBAT substrates to avoid carbon black precipitation or delamination, while maintaining the substrate’s biodegradation rate (≥90% degradation in 6 months under composting conditions).
Its core components include biodegradable-compatible carbon black: high-purity nano-carbon black with particle size 18-30nm, oil absorption 80-110mL/100g and addition amount 20%-35%, which achieves blackness L value ≤16 and light-shielding rate 95%-98%; anti-aging additives: blended carbon black and HALS with addition amount 2%-4%, maintaining ≥88% tensile strength after 1000h xenon lamp aging; and dispersants: fatty acid amide-based biodegradable dispersants with addition amount 2.5%-5%, ensuring ≥97% dispersion via twin-screw mixing at 125-145℃ and keeping melt flow fluctuation ≤4%.
The masterbatch combines excellent appearance durability and biodegradability, with blackness L value fluctuation ≤2 in the first 3 months of composting. Stable at -35℃-65℃, it works at 125-165℃ with adjustable addition 1.5%-6%, preserving ≥92% tensile strength and ≥90% biodegradation rate. It fits PBAT garbage bags (light-shielding), agricultural weed control fabrics (UV-resistant), disposable storage boxes (stable appearance), and anti-static films (conductive), reducing environmental pollution.
